What this lens asks: over what horizon am I holding, and does my signal come from the right timeframe? Timeframe is the first cross-cutting filter on any strategy because a setup's signal, stop distance, expected move, and required win-rate are all horizon-specific. The same chart pattern means different things on a 5-minute, daily, or weekly chart, and a strategy only has an edge when its holding period matches the timeframe that produced the signal.
This is a lens (synthesis) node, not a catalog of trading styles. The object-level horizon definitions — the scalping, intraday, swing, position, and investment windows, and multi-timeframe alignment — live in their natural home, Trading Styles & Time Horizons (domain #906), and are not duplicated here. What this branch adds is the application discipline:
- Matching Strategy to Timeframe (the synthesis doc in this section) — how to align signal source, hold duration, stop distance, and expectancy so you are not, e.g., entering a daily-chart swing on a thesis but managing it on intraday noise (timeframe drift), or "falling in love" with a losing swing and silently re-labeling it a long-term investment.
Why it gates strategy selection: because expected move scales roughly with the square root of horizon, the same dollar stop implies very different risk and very different required hit-rates across timeframes. Picking a strategy without first fixing the timeframe is choosing a tool before knowing the job.
For the Augustus swing agent: Augustus operates a 1–4 week swing window, so a candidate setup must carry a daily/weekly-chart signal — an intraday-only trigger is a timeframe mismatch and should not be promoted as a swing setup, regardless of how strong it looks on a 15-minute chart.
